In accordance with the ISEDA Project objectives, the Spanish campaign reinforces and augments the work that the University of Alicante, through its Equality Unit, has been developing in recent years to raise awareness in society and reduce the risk factors of exposure to gender-based violence among the university community with the intention of minimising the impact that gender-based violence can have on the victims.
The campaign is aimed at the entire university community: students, teaching staff, administrative staff and other staff linked to the University of Alicante. Its purpose is to raise awareness about gender violence within our University and to prevent possible situations of violence among the university community. With this campaign we want to strengthen the University’s capacity to identify and respond to gender-based violence within the university campus and in other relevant environments (social clubs, digital space, etc.), in addition to contributing to better information and protection of victims.
To this end, the materials to be disseminated provide information on: machismo and myths of romantic love, prevention of explicit sexual content or pornography, active witnesses to gender-based violence and cyberbullying and other forms of digital violence. These contents will be published physically (printed bookmarks, placemats and posters) and distributed throughout the university campus. The campaign will also be active online, specifically on Instagram and YouTube, using the different social profiles of the Vice-rectorate for Equality of the University of Alicante and the podcast Que no nos determinen (QNND) belonging to the line of gender violence and public health.
Zero tolerance for gender-based violence. Get active!
